USA VS GHANA PREDICTIONS AND WORLD CUP BETTING ODDS
We're about halfway through the Uruguay vs South Korea match and it looks like if things continue as they are then the United States will be facing off against the likes of Diego Forlan & Co. in the next round if they can get the job done today. I think the USA and Ghana is one of the tighter matches of the round of 16 and you can see why the United States are in such good shape after finishing as group winners.
The bookmakers originally didn't see a huge amount between both sides with the USA being given a slim edge in most cases. Currently though, the United States have taken a solid lead and are trading at 2.5 while Ghana have drifted upwards to 3.25.
The draw can be backed at 3.0 and I still think extra-time is a very real possibility in this match- more so than some of the others.
The favoured correct score result is a 1-1 draw, which trades at 5.5. After that, 1-0 to the USA is at a 6.0 price while a 2-0 win pays out at 10.0. That's the same price as a 2-1 victory while a 3-0 win for the USA is paying out at 23.0.
Should Ghana pull off the victory here, they're priced at 7.0 for a 1-0 victory and 12.0 for a 2-1 win.
The odds don't favour many goals and that's where I think the money-making opportunities are here. Neither of these sides have a particularly outstanding defence, the USA shipped two against Slovenia, so I'm tempted to think there will be more than a few goals.
The over/under on goals is listed at 2.5 with the under short-priced at 1.47 while the over trades at a lengthy 2.6. That's a great bet if you don't think we're looking at a draw.
Ghana's Asamoah Gyan is priced at 3.1 to score a goal at any time while Landon Donovan is listed at 3.2. Jozy Altidore is priced at 3.4 and Matthew Amoah is listed at 3.5. Clint Dempsey and Herculez Homez are both available at 3.75. Keep your eye on Michael Bradley at 7.0 to score anytime.
I think we'll see both sides really go at each other and, though I think extra-time is a possibility, if we do get a result in 90 minutes I fancy a higher-scoring affair. The USA should be able to grind this one out and I have more confidence in them if they have to chase the game.
