USAIN BOLT PRICED AT ODDS-ON TO BREAK 300M RECORD IN OSTRAVA
Top UK bookmaker William Hill doesn’t usually go out of its way to line up a huge amount of odds on athletics tournaments very often but you’re in luck today if you plan on tuning in to watch Usain Bolt take on the field in his quest to set a new world record in another distance.
Currently, Usain Bolt holds the world record for the 100 metres, the 200 metres and the 4x100 metres relay with his Jamaica teammates. This is all well and good but it appears as though Bolt is poised to set another record today as he competes in the 300 metre discipline in Ostrava.
The current record for the 300m is owned by American Michael Johnson, who set the outdoor 300m record at a time of 30.85. Interestingly enough there are rumours that when Johnson set the 400m world record he actually recorded a sub 30 second 300m. I have a feeling that Bolt likely won’t get under 30 seconds, but I think that he could certainly put in some very good fractional splits here and scoop up another massive world record performance.
The latest betting odds on Usain Bolt to set the 300m world record are priced at an odds-on listing of 8/15 by William Hill. You can bet against Bolt setting the record, surely Michael Johnson will have some cash on this one, and you can currently secure an 11/8 price tag on the “no” option.
Personally, I think that Bolt will definitely have the gas in the tank for this one and the rumours abound that he is more than confident that he will set the new WR. While the odds may be a bit short, I think its an indication of confidence. I think its more than worth a bet for Bolt to set the World Record in the 300 metres and the only question now is what record he might set next?
