VCBet Golf Betting - Hamilton a Louisiana loser

Todd Hamilton is VC Bet's heaviest liability heading into this week's Zurich Classic of New Orleans. The Open Champion's opening show of 100/1 is by far the most popular punt among the firm's golf punters but odds man Richard Friend says he isn't too concerned. "I notice that he's 66s with a number of firms but that seems too short for me, even in this low quality field," he said. "By all accounts this track will be too long for him and with no course history he's not one I'd want to get too heavily involved with if I was having a bet." The Pete Dye-designed Tournament Players Club of Louisiana makes its PGA Tour debut this week and the absence of any course form has seen a general downturn in this week's golf turnover. "It looks like a lot of punters are keeping their powder dry," added Friend. "Although lengthy at 7,520-yards, opinion seems very divided as to whether it is a course for the long-hitters or the more precise iron players. "We'll all be a lot wiser after a couple of rounds so I'd expect turnover to increase by the weekend. "Certainly if anyone has inside information about the course they are at a considerable advantage on the punting front this week. "It wouldn't be a surprise to see course-consultant Steve Elkington, who worked closely with designer Dye, put his knowledge to good use and score well."
