Villa Value at 3's to Sink Gunners
It's been over a month since Aston Villa played in front of their own fans but they can give fans and punters a midweek treat by defeating Arsenal on Wednesday. Paddy Power and Stan James both make the Villains a 3/1 shot to beat Arsenal (who are even money with Sporting Odds), despite the Gunner's confidence being at an all-season low after Carling Cup, FA Cup and Champions League defeats in the past fortnight. Arsene Wenger's team made hard work of beating Reading 2-1 last weekend, and are severely depleted in attack with the injuries to Henry and Van Persie, along with the suspension of Adebayor. Defender Kolo Toure will also be missing, and this should play into the hands of Villa strikers John Carew and Ashley Young, who are forging a decent partnership. Paddy Power make Carew a tasty 8/1 to open the scoring, which he's done twice in their past three games. It's been a tough opening season for O'Neill who has done well with limited resources. His team have kept three consecutive clean sheets at home against Chelsea, West Ham and Watford, and should be confident of repeating this against a toothless Arsenal attack. The 1-0 Correct Score looks decent at 9/1 (VC Bet), while many customers will be lumping on the 4/6 about Under 2.5 Goals with Stan James.
