VITALI KLITSCHKO VS JUAN CARLOS GOMEZ BETTING TIPS
Vitali Klitschko goes into his much-anticipated bout with Juan Carlos Gomez as a distinct favourite listed at a mere 1/10 to secure an outright victory. Gomez pays out in the region of 11/2 if he is to pull off an unlikely victory. With Klitschko being slightly short of ring experience during the past few months, many punters may think this gives Gomez an edge beyond what his 11/2 indicates and that he boasts a much better chance of pulling off a shock upset than many would give him credit for.
As always, the real value is in the round-by-round betting and this match-up is no different.
Klitschko is paying out between 20/1 and 10/1 for a specific round of victory, which really aren't terribly enticing odds. Lower-odds dominate the market with rounds 3 to 9 paying out at a mere 10/1. A first round KO, TKO or DQ pays out at 14/1 with round 2 paying 12/1. At round 10, we're back to 12/1 and rounds 11 and 12 pay out at 16/1 and 20/1, respectively.
A Klitschko victory on points pay out at 3/1.
If Juan Carlos Gomez is to pull off the shock victory and you can call the correct round, then you're looking at a seriously solid payday. Rounds 3-11 pay out at 66/1 apiece and rounds 1 and 2 are listed at 100/1 and 80/1. Round 12 sees the odds tilt back up towards 80/1. A Gomez victory on points pays 8/1, but that's a virtual certainty to not come through. Gomez's only chance is to KO Klitschko, no easy task, and I have to back Vitali's experience and impressive physique to deliver another workmanlike victory.
Recommendation:
Klitschko by KO in round 6 @ 10/1
