Vodafone Rosebowl Betting Preview

Look Again, a 3/1 chance with Bet365, has had two near misses the last twice and is readily fancied to gain his just desserts by landing the Vodafone Rosebowl Handicap at Epsom on Friday afternoon. Richard Fahey's charge has lost no caste in defeat in the two races in question, latterly on good to soft going at York where the five-year-old took up the running on the bridle two furlongs out and shot clear, only to be collared close home by Blue Spinnaker.Considering that the ground was plenty soft enough for Look Again that day, he ran a blinder and, with better ground predicted at Epsom on Friday, the son of Zilzal should strike, especially as he is 9lb well-in here, running off the same mark as his last two starts. On his penultimate outing, Look Again came from an uncompromising position and, meeting with trouble in running throughout the final two furlongs, did extremely well to run Star of Light to half-a-length. The selection will be meeting Brian Meehan's charge on 4lb better terms here and should have little trouble in reversing those placings. All That And More is bound to be popular after making all to beat Impeller by two and a half lengths over this very course and distance last time and, with conditions again ideal, the Unfuwain colt must go close. However, despite being open to improvement, he'll need to have come on an awful lot for that run to defy an 8lb rise in the weights in what is a much tougher contest. Furthermore, he won't be allowed an easy lead here given that Night Spot is invariably ridden aggressively. And the likely strong pace is yet another factor which will play into the hands of Look Again.Thunder Rock is the least exposed runner in the nineteen-strong line up having had just four career starts to date. He is 5lb better off with Chantaco compared to when coming home under one length adrift of that rival at Newmarket in May, so has every chance of turning the tables on that rival on these terms. However, Andrew Balding's charge looked a shade unlucky that day and has seemingly improved since, faring extremely well to overcome an unfavorable high draw in the valuable Zetland Gold Cup at Redcar on Monday. If in the same mood today, Chantaco is likely to emerge as the biggest danger to Look Again.Verdict: 1pt Look Again @ 3/1 (Bet365)
