WALES VS FRANCE 2010 SIX NATIONS LATEST ODDS
We've got some Six Nations action coming up in just a few hours and it looks like France are set for a victory cruise with William Hill listing them at 2/5 against the Welsh at 9/4. The draw is listed at a lengthy 22/1, but you never know- this one could be full of surprises.
The handicap is set at (-6.0) for France with a 10/11 price going each-way. The over/under on the match is an interesting opportunity to score a solid payout with under 37 paying 6/5 and over 39 at 5/6. You'll find that 37-39 inclusive can be backed at 15/2 and if you're feeling adventurous that's not a bad bet.
If you think Wales are going to come out and boss the game, winning by a respectable margin, why not back them on a handicap? You can currently get prices of 3/1 on Wales (-3.0) and 5/1 on the Welsh (-9.0).
You can also back the half-time handicap with the first half option trading at France (-3.0) which pays out at 10/11 while the Welsh (+3.0) are paying even money.
The first scoring play of the match is favoured to be a French penalty at 13/8 with a Welsh penalty just behind that at 7/4. A French try pays 5/1 to be the first scoring play while a Welsh penalty trades at 7/1. A drop goal pays 11/1 for France and 15/1 for Wales.
In terms of the scorer markets, the most likely players to score are mostly French. Alexis Palisson, Julien Malzieu and Marc Andreu are all listed at 2/1 anytime and 11/1 to score first or last. Welshman Shane Williams trades at 2/1 anytime, but is 12/1 to score first or last. You'll also find Leigh Halfpenny at 9/4 anytime, Lee Byrne at 3/1 and a cadre of players including James Hook, Jamie Roberts, Andrew Bishop and Tom Shanklin all at 10/3 to score at any point during the match.
The French will also be looking to Clement Poitrenaud and Mathieu Bastareaud, who has been pinpointed by the Welsh as one of their key targets. You'll find both of those players at 5/2 to score anytime.
There's plenty of opportunity here for Wales to make a big statement, but they will have to have a very strong first half. Personally, I think if they're going to take it, it's going to be defense that wins the match. If you're opting for a Wales victory, back the under 37 points option and if you're backing France I'd be going over 39.
