WARRIORS VS WAYAMBA- CHAMPIONS LEAGUE CRICKET BETTING TIPS
South African 2009 20/20 Champions the Warriors find themselves lean favourites in their clash with the Sri Lankan Wayamba tomorrow morning.
This game should be rather interesting pitting two very decent sides against each other, that when they get going, have the ability to produce some serious entertainment.
The Warriors squad has a great mix of youth, coupled with international experience in the forms of Boucher, Prince, Boje, Botha and Ntini. Throw the ever impressive up-and-coming Rusty Theron into the mix, and all the ingredients are there for a solid bowling and batting line up.
Wayamba, however are a talented outfit themselves boasting a squad with eleven players with international caps. Jayawardene alone has the ability to tear a bowling line up to pieces, with youngster Mendis being a clear favourite to wow the spinning world in years to come.
Paddypower set the Warriors at 1.72 to win this match, with the thin line between these sides shown with Wayamba at 2.1. One can only assume that home advantage could sway this one, with little margin for differentiation with such class line ups.
On the batting front Ashwell Prince is odds on to top score at 4.0, with Colin Ingram next in line at 4.5. One to watch would be Botha at 11.0-as when this chap gets going- especially when bought in during a wicket collapse- he can be devastating.
On the Wayamba front Jayawardene is rightly tops at 3.25, with fellow onslaught king Mubarak sitting at 5.5. Kulatunga is one to watch at 4.5, as he proved instrumental with his opening partner in getting to this team to the tournament.
As usual with this type of format, scenario betting is king with Ladbrokes offering some lucrative opportunities. The 'Highest Opening Partnership' bets are split even on both teams at 1.83- however, with the partnership that Wayamba possess; one would feel safe throwing a few pennies on them.
William Hill set the odds on 'Total Match Run Outs' at 1.57 for under 1.5, and 2.25 for over...this match will be tight, and so one could safely assume that running between the wickets could be the decider...
This is a great match up between evenly match teams. Twenty20 is a batsmen's game and tomorrow should be no different. The Warriors, although slight favourites will be pushed to the brink and with youngsters looking to prove their worth amongst the more recognised veterans...this could shape up to be a classic.
