Wednesday Champions League Betting Preview PT 1

This coming week sees a number of exciting contests set to unfold in the Champions League and the fixtures on Wednesday look especially appealing. A number of big sides will be in action and you can count on there being some really interesting variations in the odds as we get closer to the kick-off itself. 

Ajax plays host to Chelsea in the early stages of the days competition and you’ll find that this one really could go either way according to the bookmakers. Ajax are going in as the 14/11 favourites for the outright victory and it’s not often you find a Dutch team fancied over an English side in the Champions League but, well, here we are. 

Chelsea come into the match-up with an interesting price of around 23/10 and look decent value for money here. Many will likely be placing a wager on Chelsea outright and then looking to parlay that on the fixtures kicking off shortly afterwards. The draw sits at an enticing 27/10 margin. 

Benfica take on Lyon in what looks to be one of the more evenly matched contests of the day and you’ll find that the Portuguese are available around 15/13 while the French side can be backed at a 5/2 margin. Both prices look fairly accurate here but when you get the feeling that they will be able to get a result here if they can score the first goal. 

The draw here can be backed at a 5/2 price as well.
