Tuesday saw a number of exciting fixtures with some really interesting results shaking up their respective Champions League groups. There's a lot to like about Wednesday's line-up as well so keep your eyes peeled for a bit of extra value – as yesterday proved that literally anything can happen on this stage on the world of football.

Ajax vs Manchester City is probably going to be one of the most closely-watched matches from a neutral perspective. City need to win this one and, while they go into the match as the distinct favourites to emerge with all three points, you do have to wonder whether they really have enough in the tank to hold themselves together if they fall behind early on.

City certainly haven't shown the outright resolve in the face of adversity that they cross-town rivals have been demonstrating. Yesterday we saw United come back from a 2-0 margin to win 3-2 – it's City that struggle to get back into it when they fall behind. On occasion, they simply flatten out and City tend to rely heavily on individual moments of brilliance as opposed to outright high-quality teamwork. That's their signature and you wonder whether it will really work against them this time or not. The bookmakers think they'll wrap this one up relatively easily with a 17/20 price being floated at the moment.

Ajax certainly know how to get results to go their way, particularly at home and the 10/3 price tag might look pretty solid to a lot of neutral fans who feel as though City might be ripe for another slip-up. The 12/5 draw looks to be more of a half-time wager as this one likely has a few goals in it and likely won't finish up 0-0.

Carlos Tevez to score at anytime and City to record the victory rewards at a solid 2/1. A correct score wager of 2-1 in City's favour pays out at a solid 15/2 price tag.

Arsenal vs Schalke is going to be an interesting one as well but the Gunners generally are able to strut their stuff a bit more in European fixtures than they get opportunities for in the English Premier League. The bookmakers like Arsene Wenger's men to take this one but they're not quite as confident as you might think despite them playing in front of their home fans.

The German side are trading at 12/5 for the outright victory while the draw sits at 11/5.
