WEDNESDAY'S PREMIER LEAGUE BETTING TIPS
A full selection of Premier League action awaits us on Wednesday with some absolutely fascinating clashes taking place during the mid-week action. Man City vs Aston Villa has two teams really looking to make a statement at this point in the season and I think this one could set up to be absolute stormer. Newcastle and Man United is always a good tussle and with the Magpies in a really rough spot at the moment this one could have a hint of desperation in the air. Much will depend on the result of the Tuesday fixtures for United and if Chelsea and Liverpool both drop points, we're much more likely to see Fergie field a weakened team here. Man City vs Aston Villa: I think Villa need a win to get things back on track after the disappointment against Stoke City. Man City look like they're building something, but without Craig Bellamy they lack a cutting edge and an element of leadership. I'm going to back Villa to get the result here but it might be very close. 1-0 to Villa pays 8.00 at Stan James. Newcastle vs Manchester United: Van Der Sar is likely back between the posts for the Red Devils and I just don't fancy Newcastle scoring against him or a relatively healthy United defence. Jonny Evans showed some versatility on Sunday by slotting in at right back and we could see him line up with Ferdinand and Vidic once more. I like United for a 3-0 victory here. It pays 9.00 at Stan James. Stoke vs Bolton: It really is do or die time at Stoke and if they are to have any hope of seeing next year's Premiership season they must start winning games. Bolton are a frustrating and organized team to play against and I have a feeling that Stoke might just sneak this one. Wouldn't that make things interesting below if Stoke start pulling clear of the relegation mire? The Potters to win 2-1 pays out at 9.00 with Stan James. Wigan vs West Ham: Wigan have become a relatively stable team and don't look in any danger of going down despite a bit of a clearing out of some talent during the transfer window. I think West Ham are also stabilized now with Gianfranco Zola really looking like he's pulled that team together. I like a 1-1 draw in this one and that pays out at 6.5 with Stan James. Blackburn vs Everton: A few years ago I would have said this one is dead even, but Everton have improved while Blackburn have stood relatively still. I think the Toffees will go into this match with some panache and I fully expect them to get a result if they can stifle Roque Santa Cruz. 2-0 to Everton pays 10.00 with Stan James. Fulham vs Hull: Fulham have surprised everybody this season and Hull have been fading extremely fast. They need to start accumulating points if they are to stave off some end of season panic-attacks. I actually think this is the match that The Tigers turn it around and I'm backing them to win an epic at 3-2 which will get you 41.00 at Stan James. Tottenham vs Middlesbrough: Spurs played well on Sunday, but lacked a cutting edge. Aaron Lennon looks back in good form, but they need to sort out Pavluychenko who looked less than average. Robbie Keane should be back on the pitch and I expect him to contest Middlesbrough who, somehow, appear to be scoring again. I think a 1-1 will frustrate Harry Redknapp but prove perfectly acceptable for Gareth Southgate.
