There are some new faces to look forward to at a number of the top Premier League clubs and one has to wonder whether they will be thrown right into the action with starting roles in some of the big contests on Saturday and Sunday.
While Manchester City sitting atop the English Premier League table like a colossus probably isn't going to really shock anybody right now, it's the other three clubs that are in the mix for the other Champions League spots that would make you furrow your brow if you mentioned this to anybody year or two ago. Heading into the September Premier League fixtures, we've got Manchester City sitting just ahead of Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Swansea.
Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool are 5,6 and 7 respectively and the really interesting factor is Chelsea languishing in thirteenth place after a tumuluous start of the season that saw a lot more controversy at Stamford Bridge than we are used to seeing – and that is really saying something when you look at who's in charge.
Chelsea make a visit to Everton to kick off the action on Saturday and they go in as the odds-on favourites to get the victory over the Toffees who are having a bit of a sputtering start to the season themselves. It's worth noting that they are only available at 20/21 but that is still an interesting development for a side that are the reigning champions of the Premier League. You reckon that there will be a fair amount of punters looking to beat Chelsea to kick off their Premier League accumulator tickets and the 14/5 for the Everton victory looks especially tasty because you could theoretically see it happening.
