Weekend English Premier League Preview PT 1

The English Premier League is back in action this weekend and there is still plenty to play for as we draw closer to the end of the 2014/2015 season. There is a lot to like about the slate of match-ups that we’re going to see contested on Saturday and Sunday with some crucial fixtures for a couple of teams in their pursuit of a European place or an attempt to remain in the Premier League itself.

Things are getting congested at the bottom of the table with only a few points separating the bottom five or six teams - there is still a lot left to play for down there with a couple of teams starting to put in some decent performances at just the right time. 

One of the most important matches for the relegation dogfight this weekend is definitely the Burnley vs Leicester City match-up that will see the bottom place team face off against the third from bottom. Literally 66% of the relegation zone teams are in this match so there is a lot left to play for. 

Burnley go into the match as the betting favourites to get the victory but the odds indicate that this one really could go either way. You’ll find Burnley priced at a 7/5 margin for the home victory while the Foxes are trading at a competitive price of 19/10. There is a lot to like about that price - especially when you consider the good run of recent form that Leicester have been enjoying. 

The draw there sits at 23/10 and that won’t do for either team so expect both of them to genuinely go for this one. 

QPR are facing off with West Ham this weekend and they would love nothing more than to get a victory against a cross-town rival. West Ham are smack in the middle of the league in tenth place without a huge amount to play for right now so the Rangers might sense this one as an opportunity to pick up there points at home.
