Weekend Poker Action - Second Weekend in December
Although the Ultimate Bet Online Championships were nearing their close, that didn''''t stop players from turning out in droves to play there and at the other big-money weekend tournaments online. Ultimate Bet held their Main Event of the UBOC in lieu of its weekly $200,000 Guaranteed. The $1 million guarantee saw 1,400 players plunk down their $500 to play. However, this was not enough to match the guarantee and UB had to fork over about $300,000 out of its own coffers. This is one of the largest overlays in internet history, just in case you were wondering.140 spots paid. Internet pro, Carl "colson10" Olson finished 44th and received $3,300. Maria Nuccia, aka "t soprano", won the event and entered the final table in 8th place with 163k in chips. Final table commentary was provided by none other than Phil Hellmuth in conjunction with Nick Geber.Zmona entered the final table with around 830k and the chip lead. A_thekevlar_2, who''''s had a great run at UB lately, was nipping at Zmona''''s heels with 631k. RMB31 was the short stack with less than 150k but made some smart moves early on and doubled up a few times. He also elminated the first player from the final table. Thrillsnkills went all in preflop with an Ac, Qd. RMB31 made the easy - and correct - call with pocket kings. The board didn''''t bring an ace for Thrillsnkills and he was sent to the rails with $10,000 to comfort him.A_theKevlar_2 then eliminated E Tyme, who was rumored to be none other than former WSOP Main Event champ, Dan Harrington. Hellmuth asked E Tyme some questions he thought only Harrington would know, but it seems the answers are all over the ''''net. Although you can''''t be 100% sure if E Tyme is Harrington or not, it''''s probably safe to assume that he''''s no Dan Harrington. He went out holding an A, 10 against kev''''s big slick.Fred420 then doubled through A_theKevlar_2 and rose to the top of the heap. He then increased his lead by knocking out toetagU. He flopped a pair of kings and sent toetagU to the rails in seventh place. Maria Nuccia whacked RMB31 with a pair of kings. Then, Breitling996 finished sixth when one of his two all-in callers, A_thekevlar_2 flopped a set of queens.Zmona was the fifth place finisher when the A, 6 couldn''''t beat Maria Nuccia''''s pocket eights. Fred420''''s pocket nines prevailed over A_thekevlar_2''''s pocket ladies when the turn brought him a near-miracle set. Ouch! With three players left, Fred420 was in good position with 2.2 mil in chips. Maria Nuccia had 662k and PMJackson21 held on with 483k. Three-handed-play lasted about 20 hands. Finally, PMJackson21 went all-in preflop with pocket ducks. Fred420 called and turned over an Ad, Jh. The coin flipped in the wrong direction for PMJackson21 when the flop handed Fred420 an ace and the win. PMJackson took home a respectable $87,500 for his third-place finish.Fred420 had a nice chip lead going into heads-up play, but Maria Nuccia soon took care of that. After a few hands, the two were virtually even. At this point, Hellmuth helped the players contact UB support. They worked out a chop deal. They would split the first and second prizes 50/50 and play on for the bracelet. Maria Nuccia crippled Fred420 soon after when he caught a higher straight than Fred420''''s on the turn. Soon after, the final hand was played. Maria Nuccia had the bracelet and the title, but both Fred and Maria took home $168,450 for their efforts. Here are the final table results:1. ($168,450): Maria Nuccia2. ($168,450): Fred4203. ($87,500): PMJackson214. ($65,000): A_thekevlar_25. ($52,500): Zmona6. ($42,000): Breitling9967. ($32,000): RMB318. ($22,500): toetagU9. ($17,000): E Tyme10.($10,000): ThrillsnKillsUnlike UltimateBet, FullTiltPoker didn''''t have to pay out any overlay for their $350,000 Guarantee this week. Oh no! 2,141 players entered the event and shot the prize pool up to almost $430,000. Internet pro, Gary "GB2005" Bogdanski, who recently won a special avatar at Full Tilt for accumulating the most points on the FTOPS leaderboard as the online series'''' best all-around player, took home top honors in this event and $78,789.00 too.GB2005 entered the final table in good chip position. He had about 1 mil. The chip leader going in was BrkBB, with 1.7 mil. blizaria nd Hummer141 were the first two out. They were casualties of the war that was brewing between BrkBB and doleman19. The two dudes were dueling for dominance at the final table. MattSuspect''''s day was over when he pushed all-in with pocket nines. He had two callers, dawgnutz and scotchnlobster. Both had higher pocket pairs. When scotchnlobster hit a set of kings on the turn, Matt was sent to the rail. Servaaaaas followed soon after when he pushed all-in with his few remaining chips and his opponent, BrkBB made trip sevens with his A, 7 in the hole.doleman19 then took a hike when he pushed all-in preflop with big slick. dawgnutz benefited from the board. scotchnlobster lost when his pair of kings ran up against BrkBB''''s pair of aces. Three-handed play went back and forth for a bit. After a while, GB2005 made his move to gain control of the match. When he busted BrkBB and took his remaining chips, that did the trick.Heads-up play began with GB2005 holding 4.8 mil to dawgnutz''''s 1.6 mil. dawgnutz doubled up once, but lost it all and more soon after. Then, GB2005 pounced. dawg called from the small blind and GB2005 put him all-in. dawg held a Kd, 8h and GB had a dominant Ks, 10s. The flop brought a Qc, 8s, 6s to give dawg the lead with bottom pair. However, GB had four to a flush with two cards to come. Turns out he didn''''t need the river when a 2 of spades spiked on fourth street. The river was a very unhelpful 10 of hearts. Here are the final table results:2) dawgnutz - $48,386.603) BrkBB - $31,686.804) scotchnlobster - $25,263.805) doleman19 - $19,2696) Servaaaaas - $13,788.047) MattSuspect - $10,062.708) Hummer141 - $7,921.709) blizair - $5,944.80Bodog had a pretty good week. CrazyMarco was virtually tied for the chip lead with TwoGunC as the final table began. Both had around 500k in chips. They held onto their positions righ through to the end.The final table was a wild affair that lasted less than half an hour total. Yup! JChasek was the ninth place finisher. Mayja Playa tried to bluff at the wrong time and finished in eighth. CrazyMarco''''s jacks then held up over SmooveSteely''''s pocket sevens, sending Smoove to the rail in seventh. bonafachi beat out Max Buyin by flopping a ten to pair his lower card against Max''''s pocket 8s.CrazyMarco then knocked out two players back-to-back. His pocket sixes crushed schem11''''s A-Q. halincadenza then went all-in with his A, J. CrazyMarco caught a lucky five on the flop to pair his lower card and all halincadenza could do was wait for his $6,500 to show up. TwoGunC then completed a straight on the river and sent bonafachi away in third. CrazyMarco and TwoGunC had a very short heads-up match, lasting only two hands. Crazy won the event when he completed a flush to crack TwoGunC''''s aces.
