West Brom v Bolton
The pressure is mounting on Gary Megson, the West Brom manager, to get results and get them fast. Many are saying that if they lose this game then Megson will be down the Job Centre on Monday morning. And you have to feel a bit of sympathy for the man, because he's done well for the club over the years. So with the axe looming, how will it affect the players and the outcome of the match? Well you can in these situations go down two roads. There is not alot between them in the betting. Stan James bet West Brom...8/5, The Draw....11/5, and Bolton....6/4. Do you believe that West Brom can motivate themselves to win this one.....or will a rampant Bolton side, finally put the nail in the coffin? <?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O />Pre season, the Baggies fans would be looking at this fixture and thinking three points, but not now. Sam Allardyce has really got his Bolton side firing on all cylinders, and they are the 3rd highest scorers in the Premiership. West Brom have yet to keep a clean sheet. Add to this the fact that West Brom have not beaten Bolton in a decade, and the omens for Megson aren't good. If you think Bolton will score, who will it be? Jay Jay Okocha is back and he's a 7/2 shot to score at anytime, but the trio of Davies, Pederson and Ferdinand would be better options at 7/4, 7/4 and 15/8 respectively. You do suspect though that there will be goals, but not that many. The Baggies strikeforce will consist of a pair from Kanu, Earnshaw and Horsfield. The Goofy One, Robert Earnshaw, is a decent goalscorer and he is 13/8 to score anytime. The goals market at Stan James sees a good bet for exactly two goals.....11/4. It's just one of those games that smacks of two goals. Bolton are the value though on their current form. 6/4 is a tempting price. Half time/full time they are 4/1! This could be Megson's final game in charge and if you believe in these things, it could be that Bolton are the ones to tip him over the edge.
