West Ham V Manchester United
BANK ON ANTON For the first time in their professional careers the Ferdinand brothers Rio and Anton will go head to head this weekend as Manchester United look to keep their slim Premiership title hopes alive with a victory at West Ham. Naturally, the Reds are odds-on to record a win at Upton Park, although it should be pointed out that the Hammers have made their best ever start to a Premiership campaign. Alan Pardew has also watched his side win their last two home games, so confidence ought to be high for the visit of Man Utd. West Ham have never beaten the Old Trafford club at home in the Premiership. That said since the 1993/1994 season, Man U have left Upton Park seven times with only a point to show for their efforts. The best price available for the game to finish level is 5/2 with a number of firms. It wouldn't be a massive shock if the game finished allsquare with Man Utd coming off a tough midweek assignment in Europe. Furthermore, the hosts should be fresh and well rested just the one game in the past few weeks. As mentioned at the top, this will be the first time we will see the Ferdinand brothers up against each other. Sky Sports are bound to give this plenty of attention before, during and after the match. An interesting bet that is worth pursuing is Anton Ferdinand to be named man of the match at 22/1 with Paddy Power. Rio has come in for plenty of critisism over the past few months, and so isn't excatly a fans favourite at present. Anton is more of an unknown quantity to the general public, yet arguably has little to lose on Sunday. If West Ham are defeated, it was expected anyway, and if they draw or win, Anton is likely to have played his part and be hailed a hero. Given the amount of attention likely to be given to the Ferdinands, a strong Hammers showing may well result in Anton being named man of the match.
