WESTERN PROVINCE VS LIONS BETTING TIPS
The British & Irish Lions go into tomorrow's match-up with Western Province carrying a distinctly low price on virtually all UK bookmakers. Currently listed at 1/10 for the outright win, the Lions are expected to win by a considerable margin with the original handicap set at 16.0. Western Province are 11/2 to take the victory and the draw is available at a 25/1 price. The alternate Handicap market is an interesting one as well with a 26.0 point victory for the Lions listed at 5/2. This may be a tad out of range, but if the Lions open with a strong first 20 minutes and manage to put a few try's on the board, then I think the 26 points could be a certain reality. A 21.0 handicap is slightly more plausible, but you're giving up lots of value for just a five point shave with British & Irish Lions -21.0 paying a mere 11/8. The Lions to win both halves pays out at 1/3 and that's not bad value in my book. The lowest odds on the winning margin are between 16-20 at 9/2. A 1-5 margin pays out at 10/1 and 6-10 pays 15/2. A 40 point blow-out offers up a 12/1 price. British & Irish Lions carry a first-half handicap of -7.0 at evens. Western Province +7.0 is 10/11 with a Handicap tie +7.0 listed at 10/1. That handicap tie is fairly plausible, and may be worth a bash at that price, but I think a 14 point margin is more likely. Tommy Bowe and Ugo Monye are the most likely first tryscorers for Lions at 8/1 with Rob Kearney, Keith Earls, Riki Flutey and Gordon D'Arcy all listed at 12/1. James Hook sits at 14/1 with Stephen Jones and Harry Ellis both listed at 16/1. The most likely first tryscorers for Western Province are Gcobani Bobo and Tonderai Chavhanga at 14/1. Gio Aplon is 16/1 with Joe Pietersen, Morgan Newman, Peter Grant and JJ Engelbrecht all available at 20/1.
