WGC World Cup, Seville, Spain
Teams representing 24 nations line for this mixed format event, but very few of them have their best players competing this week. The big exception is host nation Spain who happen to have two of the very best players in the world representing them, Sergio Garcia and Miguel Angel Jimenez, which explains why they are our 11/4 favourites. Garcia is the 9th ranked best player in the world right now, and was the highest points scorer at the Ryder Cup, while Jimenez, similarly impressive at Oakland Hills, is at number 15 in the rankings. Their chance is obvious on home soil, but they are there to be beaten, especially considering they were not regarded as worth putting together in Ryder Cup fourballs or foursomes. The French combination of Thomas Levet and Raphael Jaquelin could be the ones to do it, and they look attractively priced at 14/1. Levet is one of the straightest hitters around, while Jacquelin has already produced some quality form in Spain towards the end of this season with a tied 4th in the Madrid Open in September. It is hard to believe that he is yet to win on Tour, but Levet could just be the partner to help him succeed. bet365 World Cup prices ?
