Will Tim Produce Stella Performance?
Bookmakers William Hill have cut the price of Nadal winning Wimbledon from 16/1 to 10/1 after his spectacular performance at the French Open. It will be the first time that Nadal has appeared at Wimbledon and although he is completely untried on grass he is shorter odds than British number 1 Tim Henman, who can be backed at 16/1 to win the title. British No.2, Greg Rusedski is a 125/1 outsider."There is no doubt that Nadal is a very exciting prospect, with some commentators even suggesting that he is set to dominate tennis in a similar manner to Tiger Woods' domination of golf. A word of caution though, clay court specialists do not transfer to grass that easily and it is perhaps wise to see how he gets to grips with the surface early on. At present Tim is 16/1 the longest pre-tournament price he has been for many years. Punters are well advised to get on early as the price is guaranteed to shorten as patriotic punters pile on the cash in the lead up to the tournament," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.Queens Outright Betting: A Roddick 2/1, L Hewitt 11/4, M Ancic 5/1, T Henman 8/1, S Grosjean 12/1, T Johansson 14/1, T Dent 20/1, G Rusedski 25/1, J Blake 33/1.Wimbledon Outright Betting: R Federer 8/15, A Roddick 6/1, R Nadal 10/1, L Hewitt 10/1, T Henman 16/1, M Safin 20/1, J Johansson 20/1, M Ancic 25/1, D Nalbandian 33/1, I Ljubicic 40/1, R Gasquet 50/1, S Grosjean 50/1, A Agassi 50/1, G Rusedski 125/1.
