William Creek Betting tips
Kauto Star is a best-priced 4/6 to win the William Hill Tingle Creek Chase for the second year running at Sandown on Saturday. However, he looked vulnerable dropped back to two miles in my opinion and I am keen to take him on with Voy Pur Ustedes, who makes plenty of appeal at 7/2 with Ladbrokes. There's no doubt that Kauto Star is one heck of a machine - he has been breathtaking in his two races so far this season - but his trainer, Paul Nicholls, has conceded that last year he was trying to win the Champion Chase with what is effectively a Gold Cup horse. As such, it's rather surprising to see him running over the minimum distance again. Don't get me wrong, it's good that connections are sporting enough to make bold moves and not wrap their stable star up in cotton wool, when they could have easily just tucked him away for the King George on Boxing Day. But two miles, even on a stiff track like Sandown, might be a touch on the sharp side for him now. Conversely, Voy Pur Ustedes is every inch a two-mile specialist and impressed with his bold jumping when outpointing Monet's Garden and Foreman in the Arkle Chase at the Cheltenham Festival. He was then turned over by Foreman when odds-on for the Maghull Novices' Chase at Aintree, but that sharp track didn't play to his strengths, and he is better than that. Indeed, the nature of the course at Sandown will be much more conducive to Voy Por Ustedes's style of racing than Aintree, while the testing fences at the Esher venue - including the Railway Fences which come thick and fast down the back straight - will hold no terrors for this sure-footed five-year-old, who has been beaten in just one of six starts over fences. Any ground comes alike to the selection and he is taken to show Kauto Star and Foreman a clean pair of heels, while Ashley Brook, who was beaten a length and a half by Kauto Star in this race last year, faces a gargantuan task on Saturday, for it will be his first run since last year's renewal having incurred an injury. He is entitled to need a run or two before reaching concert pitch. Verdict - 1pt Voy Por Ustedes @ 7/2
