WILLIAM HILL INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE BETTING TIPS
The April 21st fixtures for the 2009 IPL are very intriguing with the first match between Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders an absolute toss-up in terms of outright betting. William Hill has both teams listed at 5/6 with identical odds on highest first six overs total. Kolkata is favoured by just a hairsbreath to record the highest opening partnership and they're also favoured to hit the most sixes. West Indies captain Chris Gayle will be taking the field for Knight Riders and this leads me to bet on him for top Kolkata batsman. He's available at 3/1 with his stiffest competition being Brendon McCullum at 10/3. Sourav Ganguly is listed at 9/2 alongside Brad Hodge. I think Ishant Sharma will have a few things to say for the Punjab batsmen and I am confident that he will strike very, very early. I think Kings XI have a slightly better line-up of batsmen, but their lack of depth in terms of bowling concerns me a bit. Yuvraj Singh is always quality, but I'm backing Ravi Bopara to outscore his teammates at 4/1. Simon Katich is available at the same price and I'm also looking in his direction. RECOMMENDATION:Kolkata Knight Riders to Win @ 5/6Chris Gayle as top Kolkata Batsmen @ 3/1Ravi Bopara/Simon Katich as top Kings XI Batsmen @ 4/1, 4/1 (2/1 each-way)
