William Hill Tips for Saturday's racing
CESAREWITCH (HERITAGE HANDICAP) Newmarket, Saturday 16th October, 14.45 BST William Hill Tips Selection : IT'S THE LIMIT The expected mount of Frankie Dettori is bound to come in for plenty of support especially after a cracking run on unsuitable ground at Goodwood last time. Won this race in 2001 and cannot be discounted easily. ESCAYOLA Finally came good at Ascot last time in a race which could well provide the key to this race and comes into this event in excellent heart. Not badly treated at the weights despite a penalty, if the ground is on the fast side of good, would have a first rate chance. HIGH ACTION Has been supported this week but that is probably mainly down to the fact that Kieren Fallon has been booked to ride. Doesn't look all that well handicapped and hard to fancy. IT'S THE LIMIT A good fourth to Escayola last time and has been lightly-raced this season. May well be crying out for a test of stamina such as this and has clearly been trained with this race in mind. A must for the shortlist. MR ED A really consistent sort who should relish the conditions of this race. Strong place possibilities. NO REFUGE Gained a confidence-booster at Cologne last time and looking to make amends for the stable's disappointment in the Cambridgeshire. Strong gallop and stamina test should suit. TEMPSFORD Beaten fair and square behind Escayola last time but that was his first run for a while and will come on for that outing. Each-way claims. TUNGSTEN STRIKEWon the Noel Muirless her last time out and beating some well fancied rivals in the process. If there was no fluke about that run, is exceptionally well handicapped but may be let down by his age as three-year-olds seem to struggle in this race. CHAMPION STAKESNewmarket, Saturday 16th October, 15.25 BSTWilliam Hill Tips Selection : LUCKY STORYDanger : DOYEN AZAMOURWon the Irish equivalent despite the lack of a recent run and in the form of his life. It may be that more will be needed to win this but seems to be raising his game all the time and must be on the premises.DOYEN Wasn't right when behind Azamour last time and we can expect a much bigger run this time. There seems to growing stable confidence and the chances are he'll prove his latest running all wrong here. HAAFHD Has failed to recapture the early-season magic but there were excuses last time and back to a track which he clearly loves, it is hoped he will run a big race. It is more hop than confidence though. LUCKY STORY Just the type to win this event, he ran a blinder to be beaten just half a length by the top class Rakti last time. There will be more to come and the extra quarter-of-a-mile will be ideal. Well fancied by the yard.MISTER MONET Has won his last four starts well and this has been the target race for some time. Only just does enough to win so how much more there is to come is anyone's guess. Will need a career-best run but its possible. MUBTAKER Had been a highly consistent sort before blemishing his record last time where things didn't seem to go his way. May have peaked and will need to be back to his best to figure here. NORSE DANCER Well behind Rakti last time and would need to run the race of his life to score here, despite having some decent form behind him. Hard to fancy. REFUSE TO BEND The 'comeback king' who you can never rule out, it is hard to leave him off the shortlist. Ten furlongs seemed ideal in the Eclipse Stakes and in that kind of form would be hard to beat.
