Wolves Can Kick Start their Premier League Season
- By Jaymes Monte on November 12, 2010 14:52 GMTWolverhampton Wanderers host Bolton at Molineux this Saturday afternoon on an important day at the bottom of the Premier League table.
The fixture list computer has been terribly unkind to Wolves this season pitting them against Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal in consecutive Premier League games. Despite taking all three points from their home game against City they can feel a little aggrieved at not picking up points from the games against both United and Arsenal.
Mick McCarthy will be hoping that his side can continue playing in the same manner as they did against Arsenal last time out when they created an abundance of chances and were in fact the better side. A similar performance at home to a Bolton team that have struggled slightly away from home this season should be enough for them to take all three points at odds of 7/5 with the bookmakers.
The only other team in the Premier League to still have only a single figure points tally this season is West Ham. They host Blackpool at Upton Park this Saturday looking for only their second win of the season. A controversial team selection from Ian Holloway for Blackpool’s midweek game against Aston Villa means that his players should be fresh for the trip to London.
The Seasiders have been written off at every possible stage throughout this season and have continually defied the odds. Once again the bookmakers make them rank outsiders at 10/3, but with three victories away from home already this season it would be foolish to ignore them at that price.
One thing that we can be certain of in Blackpool games is that there will be goals. 10 out of their 12 Premier League games this season have ended with more than 2.5 goals as Holloway continues to stick to his attacking policies. The bookmakers price Over 2.5 goals in this one at odds of 8/13.
With Wigan also at home to West Bromwich Albion, this Saturday could prove to be a massive in relation to who will be relegated from the Premier League come the end of the season.
