WORLD CUP 2010 PREDICTIONS AND LATEST ODDS FOR WEDNESDAY
We've got a few interesting matches coming up tomorrow as we're getting towards the end of the opening matches in the Group stages. The highlight is going to be Spain vs Switzerland and I could see that being a better game than a lot of people initially think.
After watching Brazil's extremely interesting fixture against North Korea, we'll finally have seen all the big sides play after Spain finishes up against Switzerland. As of right now, the team to beat appears to be Germany.
Chile are the favourites to beat out upstarts Honduras and popular UK bookmaker Blue Square has priced Chile as the 4/7 favourites while Honduras can be backed at around 5/1 to pull off a surprise victory here. The draw sits around 11/4.
Spain are the biggest favourites of the day and you'll find Fernando Torres & Co listed at a very slim 2/7 while Switzerland command a 10/1 price if they could pull off what would be the upset of the group stage. The draw is priced at 4/1 and while I don't think it will be a blow-out, I think its obvious that the Spanish should be able to sort this one out fairly easily.
Host team South Africa take on Uruguay as the second round of matches kick off in the final fixture of Wednesday. This one looks really interesting and, though we've been tipping Uruguay to progress out of the group, South Africa look like they still have a few things to say about this tournament. Not much between the two teams, but Uruguay get the edge with an 11/8 price ahead of the Bofana Bofana at 2/1. You can back a draw in this match at an 11/5 listing and that's not a bad option, truth be told.
I think that, in the Honduras-Chile match, that Carlos Pavon to score a goal at any time is fairly well-priced at a 5/2 margin. I think Honduras will have a bit more than many others expect here.
David Villa is priced at 8/11 to score anytime against Switzerland while Fernando Torres trades at the same price. I think both are great shouts to get a goal.
In the final match, why not a bet on Siphiwe Tshabalala to score at any point in the match with a 7/2 price.
You can get 4.8 odds on Chile x Spain x Uruguay on an accumulator.
