WORLD CUP 2010 TOP GOALSCORER ODDS SHOW GONZALO HIGUAIN AND DAVID VILLA SET TO DUEL

Things are getting extremely interesting in the betting markets for World Cup 2010 Top Goalscorer. After slotting home the only goal of the match against Portugal, Spain's David Villa is now considered to be the favourite to be named World Cup 2010 Top Goalscorer.

As it currently stands, there looks to be about three genuine contenders to high-roll the goalscoring lists at the 2010 World Cup. With potentially three matches left to play, you really need to do your homework if you're going to get a payoff.
David Villa's odds to be World Cup 2010 Top Goalscorer are listed at 3.0 while Gonzalo Higuain is priced at 3.5. Brazil's Luis Fabiano is priced at 5.5 and then the odds take a big jump to 12.0 for Uruguay's Luis Suarez. Germany's Thomas Muller can be backed at 17.0 while Asamoah Gyan and Carlos Tevez can be backed at 21.0.
Germany's Miroslav Klose and Uruguay's Diego Forlan share a 23.0 price. Lionel Messi and Lukas Podolski are both at 34.0 and Robin Van Persie is sitting at 41.0. You're looking at 81.0 for Fernando Torres or Robinho while Arjen Robbem, Dirk Kuyt, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Wesley Sneijder and Mesut Ozil are all priced at 101.0. Cacau trades at 151.0.
Higuain and Villa have scored four goals apiece while Robert Vittek of Slovakia also notched four goals. If both Higuain and Villa go scoreless in the next potential three games then a bet on Vittek would make sense I guess (he is listed at 21.0).
It's important to remember that a hat-trick or even a brace could blow this market wide open and with Spain facing the relatively weak (comparatively-speaking) Paraguay in the next fixture, you might fancy Villa to grab a few more goals. With Fernando Torres not firing at all, it's almost as if the Spainiards are playing with a single striker. I think he is more likely to score in the next fixture than Higuain is against Germany, which I think will be a tougher game.
Another big part of this is selecting a player who will actually play in the final. If you don't get that right at this point it's very easy to be overtaken by a player who will get to see the last two games or so.
