Tuesday will see Brazil tangle with Germany and then Wednesday’s fixture involves Holland taking on the Argentinians, who appear to have been going from strength to strength in their last couple of matches.
Brazil are in trouble now that their top-performing talisman Neymar has been ruled out for several months after picking up an injury to his vertebrae, effecting ending his very productive World Cup in his fifth match. With Thiago Silva also expected to be out, for the next match-up, Brazil look up against it as they take on a Germany side that is rapidly coming into form after some underwhelming results earlier in the tournament itself.
Brazil vs Germany seems poised delicately at 9/5 apiece right now amidst volume that is presumably pretty heavy. It’s going to be interesting to watch the odds move during the build-up to the match on Tuesday with the draw trading at 15/8 and looking pretty good for those who expect still another fixture to go into extra time. One thing we did see in the last match was other members of the Brazil squad aside from Neymar able to step up with goals and assists.
That could definitely bode well for Luis Felipe Scolari’s side and their hopes of securing a World Cup in front of their home fans.
The Germans are looking very competitive and a quick look at the qualification odds place the European side firmly in the drivers seat. You can find Germany available at a 5/6 price tag to go through to the next round of the competition by any possible method - be it a 90 minutes win, extra time or penalties.
The Brazilians can be backed at even money for the same wager and it’s interesting that you have dead-on odds for the 90 minutes market but Germany getting the distinctly clear edge as the match wears on. That definitely tells you something about Brazil’s chances - though their fans will probably struggle to get better odds on them to qualify than at any other point in the tournament.
