World Cup 2018 Betting Preview PT 2
- By A.J. The dominant side in the world right now, they had a relatively simple qualifying route and they have a lot of strength in depth so you reckon that they will be able to push on and make things happen here but a slow start to the tournament - perhaps a draw in their opening fixture against a team they really should be beating - could see them derail quickly and be that big side that goes out in the group stages.
Brazil can be backed at just a slightly higher price than Germany and they are available at around 6/1 all the way up to an 8/1 margin right now. They are always genuine contenders but they tend to be overbet - particularly by casual punters looking to lump on to somebody to give them a rooting interest.
It’s going to be a rather tricky situation for them in Russia, however, even though it’s the summer it won’t be quite the temperate environment many of them have been used to and you also assume there won’t be as many travelling Brazilian fans this time around as well.
They will definitely be out there looking for revenge against the likes of Germany as that 7-1 spanking still looms large in their national memory.
