WORLD CUP QUALIFIER PLAY-OFF BETTING TIPS
We have the odds and selection for the World Cup Qualifiers in the European zone and it looks like the Ireland vs France match-up is set to be the pick of the crop. Betfair has some very long odds on the first match of the two-legged tie and, although it looks like France may be priced out a bit shorter, we expect the bulk of the money wagered to go on Ireland. As it currently stands, Republic of Ireland's odds to reach the World Cup are 3.7 compared to France's odds of 1.35. In terms of the first match, we have Republic of Ireland at 3.25 against France, who carry a 2.44 price currently. The draw pays out at 3.2. If you're looking at any of the other matches slated to happen on November 14th, you will see that the Greece/Ukraine match is a virtual dead-heat. Ukraine looks to be just edging it in terms of qualification as they are listed at 1.81 compared to Greece's 1.9.Portugal are very heavy favourites to beat out Bosnia in qualification with Cristiano Ronaldo's side listed at 1.3 while Bosnia are 3.85 to qualify for the 2010 World Cup. I think this one is a bit of a foregone conclusion and I think Portugal is a more fearsome competitor than France. Russia are also very big favourites to qualify ahead of Slovenia. Roman Abramovich's side carry a 1.28 price to ensure qualification while Slovenia are listed at 4.1 to go through to the tournament proper. I think if you're looking to back some type of a qualification accumulator, I suggest backing Ireland, Portugal, Russia and Ukraine.
