WORLD GRAND PRIX OF DARTS OUTRIGHT BETTING TIPS
Unsurprisingly, Phil "The Power" Taylor is the odds-on favourite to win the 2009 World Grand Prix of Darts by a very large margin. Blue Square has listed Taylor at 8/15 ahead of the top names in International darts. Taylor's closest competition is no longer Raymond Van Barneveld, as James Wade has stepped in to provide the 2nd class foil to Taylor. Wade can be backed at 7/1 while Van Barneveld is now considered co-third favourite at 10/1 alongside Gary Anderson. Terry Jenkins is at 25/1, the same price as Mervyn King. Colin Lloyd, Mark Walsh and Adrian Lewis are all available at a 33/1 price tag. Colin Osborne is at 40/1 while Jamie Caven and Kevin Painter are both listed at 50/1. In terms of the match betting over the next two days, Jamie Caven (4/7) is favoured to beat Wes Newton (5/4). Mark Walsh (4/7) is expected to beat Andy Hamilton (5/4), while Mervyn King (8/13) is expected to dispatch of Colin Osborne (6/5). There doesn't appear to be much between Jacko Barry (10/11) and Mick McGowan (4/5) so that one is probably best to leave alone. James Wade (1/4) is easy money to beat out Dennis Priestley (11/4). Van Barneveld (2/5) takes on Alan Tabern (7/4) and that should be a walk in the park for the Dutchman. Ronnie Baxter (8/15) takes on Steve Beaton (11/8) in the final fixture of the evening. Colin Lloyd (2/5) is expected to top Andy Smith (7/4) while Adrian Lewis (6/4) comes in as the underdog to Gary Anderson (1/2)- this is my upset match, I will be backing Lewis to take this one in a double with Phil Taylor (1/20) over Wayne Jones (8/1). Terry Jenkins (1/2) takes on Mark Dudbridge (6/4) and that should be an exciting one as well.
