It has been a wild first day in Bahrain as a number of top-seated players (and a number of former World Champions) have been eliminated from the running at the World Snooker Championships. Holt's Great EscapeThe action came fast and furious in the match-up between Michael Holt and Jamie Cope with Holt jumping out to an early 3-0 lead before Cope won three of the next four and Holt barely secured victory in the final frame. 888sport has listed Ryan Day as a slight (4/1) favourite to win the title with Stephen Maguire just behind at 5/1. Ali Carter and Stephen Hendry are both listed at 9/1 with Joe Perry (not the Aerosmith one), Dominic Dale, and Neil Robertson all tied up at 10/1.
