World Snooker Championships Bahrain Betting Tips
It has been a wild first day in Bahrain as a number of top-seated players (and a number of former World Champions) have been eliminated from the running at the World Snooker Championships. In fact, no seeded players progressed on the first day of competition with Shaun Murphy going down to outsider Mike Dunn in a flukey 5-4 victory. Ken Doherty and Graeme Dott were also eliminated on day 1. Slipping AwayMurphy actually held a 3-1 interval lead at one point, but Dunn went on an excellent run by winning the next three frames, ultimately sealing it in the ninth with an impressive run of 67 in the final frame. At one point, Dunn stated that he feared getting skunked 5-0. Dunn has progressed and will face Barry Hawkins (who triumphed over Doherty 5-3). Barry Pinches snaked Graeme Dott 5-3. Holt's Great EscapeThe action came fast and furious in the match-up between Michael Holt and Jamie Cope with Holt jumping out to an early 3-0 lead before Cope won three of the next four and Holt barely secured victory in the final frame. 888sport has listed Ryan Day as a slight (4/1) favourite to win the title with Stephen Maguire just behind at 5/1. Ali Carter and Stephen Hendry are both listed at 9/1 with Joe Perry (not the Aerosmith one), Dominic Dale, and Neil Robertson all tied up at 10/1.
