Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. has announced the 38th annual World Series of Poker presented by Milwaukee's Best Light will begin June 1, 2007 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, with the final table of the $10,000 buy-in No Limit Texas Hold'em World Championship beginning July 17. A complete schedule of events will be announced before the end of this year. "The 2006 World Series of Poker was the best yet, but 2007 will be even better," said World Series of Poker Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack. "As a first step, we've moved the start date up and now we're developing an expanded and well-rounded schedule of events for 2007 that will appeal to both professionals and amateurs." With a total gross prize pool of more than $171 million and in excess of 48,000 player registrations, the 37th annual World Series of Poker presented by Milwaukee's Best Light shattered every participation and prize money record for a live poker event. The top prize for the $10,000 buy-in No Limit Texas Hold'em World Championship, commonly referred to as the Main Event, reached $12 million. Qualification to the WSOP 2007 - Online QualfiersTo date there are four rooms offering WSOP satellites: 888 Pacific Poker (no Americans, $150 free) is running a $12,500 2007 WSOP package tournament that takes place on the last Friday of the month. The prize is a seat at the 2007 World Series of Poker $1500 No Limit Holdem Event. The tourney has a buy-in of $75 +$5 but sub satellites and satellites are running daily for the pacificpoker WSOP 2007 tourney. Absolute Poker ($750 free, Americans welcome) has just included WSOP 2007 Satellites to their regular tournament schedule. For every 110 players in their Main Event Satetllites 1 player will get a $10,000 buy-in for the WSOP 2007 main event plus expenses.
