2013 Ashes Series Final Test Betting Tips Part 2
- By A.J. Ryder on August 23, 2013 00:27 GMTFor their money, the Australians aren’t a really bad bet if you reckon they’re going to bowl nearly as well as they’ve batted so far on this surface. The English bowlers struggled to take wickets on this Oval pitch and the lack of grit displayed by the Aussie bowlers may do in their hopes.

It is clear that the Australians will be looking to take early wickets if they want to have any chance of taking this one down and bringing the series closer to a more respectable 3-1 margin.
England’s odds to win the final test are extremely long and it would be one of the ultimate performances of any English side if they were able to pull off a talismanic reverse here and actually take the Australians out. England will need to post a massive score do it in less than a day, then follow that up with the opportunity to bowl out Australia cheaply for 150 or something like that. It’s not entirely outside of the realm of possibilities but the bookmakers have priced the English at 10/1 for a reason.
Right now the over/under for the English side is set at 410.5 and that’s more or less what they will be looking out for, though it remains difficult they have any chance of actually reaching that total in a single day’s play. If they do come out all guns blazing, and you reckon they likely learned a few things from bowling on the pitch over the last two days, they do have a slim hope of pulling something out.
