The bookmakers have the Australians trading at an 11/8 price tag right now and that’s a decent listing for some but it will probably be smarter to wait a little bit and see whether they decide to bat or bowl first. The England side trade at a 7/4 listing right now and that’s a decent wager as things could get very interesting very quickly here and the bookmakers will be looking to clip that price down as soon as England start to showcase their overall skill and ability to put runs on the board and take wickets at key moments.

Australia to pull off a series win and retain the Ashes would pay out at 7/4 while a drawn series - which is still very much a possibility - would reward at 4/1.
