2015 Cricket World Cup Final Betting Tips PT 2

Much of the big prices are in the Man Of The Match betting market and you’ll find Steve Smith trading at a 9/1 listing right now alongside David Warner and Mitchell Starc. It goes without saying that a fair amount of punters will probably be looking to the lead tournament wicket taker, Trent Boult, as a potential MOTM wager and he’s trading at a competitive 10/1 listing. Only the likes of Brendan McCullum trade alongside him at that 10/1 price.

Smith gets the nod from the bookmakers as the favourite for Australia’s top runscorer and you’ll find him priced out at around 3/1 while David Warner can be backed at a competitive 10/3 listing. Finch and Clarke are priced at 5/1 while Shane Watson is a 6/1 shout.

For New Zealand, they’ll be looking to Kane Williamson as the main choice here at 7/2 but he’s trading alongside both Martin Guptill and Brendan McCullum for the top runscorer market. Punters will find Ross Taylor at 5/1 and Grant Elliot trading at a 6/1 margin.

Guptill, coincidentally, stands a good chance of being the top tournament runscorer and he’s available to be backed in a match bet against the current leader Kumar Sangakarra. You can back Guptill at a 2/7 price against the Sri Lankan’s current 5/2 margin.

Trent Boult is also likely to be named the top tournament wicket taker and he’s an 8/15 shout to beat out Mitchell Starc for the honour. The Australian can be backed at a 6/4 listing.

Expect Australia to likely bat first here with a good chance of putting up a considerable total. We are still waiting on the weather forecast but most are expecting things to be fine and for us to enjoy a full 100 overs of uninterrupted play. There is simply so much history between these two that you have to wonder whether there will be some fireworks on the pitch itself if hostilities boil over a bit. The New Zealand side will revel in their role as underdogs and they boast an in-form attack and the ability to chase down big totals.
