2015 ODI World Cup Betting Preview Pt 1
- By A.J. Ryder on August 25, 2014 20:49 GMTAfter some harsh words from Graeme Swann about England’s chances to win the 2015 ODI Cricket World Cup, it appears as though it’s going to be a much more interesting tournament than some of us had already believed. The former England spinner declared that the side have literally “no chance” to win the tournament despite what their price might have you believe.

After a very difficult opening to the series against India, England were able to storm back and really pull off some excellent results against their southern hemisphere opposition. You had to relish their ability to bowl India out cheaply when it really mattered in the later tests and you can also bank on many of the same players making the move to the ODI team and lining up for this massive tournament which kicks off on January 1st of next year.
One of the feathers in England’s cap is that many of the quality players from their victorious test series were called up from the One Day Side and that would indicate further strength in depth than many punters (and cricket pundits alike) might have initially observed.
It really seems to be a toss-up for the favourites position right now from a punting standpoint as Australia and India are both trading at an identical price to secure World Cup glory.
As it currently stands, you can back Australia at a 4.50 price while India are trading right alongside them. It’s going to be very interesting to see if that in-form Aussie side can continue their excellent run of recent form that they received after demolishing England during the last Ashes series.
