2015 ODI World Cup Betting Preview Pt 2
- By A.J. Ryder on August 25, 2014 20:50 GMTIndia will have some new faces in the ODI side but you have to wonder how much the dismantling at the hands of a sub-par England will affect their confidence as they go forward. There is a lot to like about their ability and they have always set a definite standard in the one-day version of the game. You can bank on their fans supporting them all the way though and there will be a lot of eyes from the subcontinent peeled on this tournament.

The next best-priced side is none other than South Africa and the Proteas are available at a very solid price of 5.50 that is likely to attract a lot of wagering volume from domestic and neutral punters alike. They have plenty of quality players and they will all be chomping at the bit to make a big statement in front of the global audience and show that South African cricket hasn’t lost a step.
Following South Africa is the likes of Sri Lanka and Pakistan both priced out at an 8.0 price tag which makes them both rather competitive for this one. Pakistan is a particularly interesting selection here but you have to wonder whether they will be able to handle it at a level this high and then maintain their consistency throughout the entirety of the tournament.
Sri Lanka are always an interesting side and they boast a lot of strength in depth. They might be a very solid selection for the each-way option here as most bookmakers are paying out at 1/2 odds for a contender to finish in the first two spots.
New Zealand are at a solid 9.0 and represent some decent value - likely to attract some each-way money as well.
England are currently available at an 11.0 price and that’s going to be interesting to see how it fluctuates during the build-up to the tournament. West Indies is priced at 13.0 and will have some work to do. The odds then take a big jump to Bangladesh at 67.0 while Zimbabwe and Ireland are both trading at 101.0. Afghanistan is the longest shot on the board at 501.0. What a story that would be!
