As it currently stands, you'll find that Dustin Johnson is ranking as the betting favorite to win the 2017 Open championship and you'll find him hovering at a price of around 9/1 with a few major bookmakers. Depending on which bookmakers you have access to, you may be able to find him at that price but the majority seem to have him trading as low as a 7/1 margin right now.
Rory McIlroy is always in the mix for tournaments like this and it would be great to see him win a major so close to home. Right now you'll find McElroy trading at a price of around 10 / 1 with a few books going as high as 11 / 1. He is very much a player that sometimes you want to not wager on before the tournament and instead want to see how he does on day 1 - even tolerating a significant drop in price - because you really need to see whether mcilroy's coming and full of confidence and whether he's in-form.
It's probably not a giant surprise that Jordan Spieth is very much in the mix as well and you'll find him trading as high as a 14/1 margin to secure the Open Championship. That's a very appealing price tag and definitely brings him into each way bet territory if you want to play him to win and finish within the top five finishers.
You'll also find Henrik Stenson trading at a 20/1 margin, while Hideki Matsuyama can be backed right around the same price. Sergio Garcia is trading at 22/1 to secure a victory here and you'll also find American Rickie Fowler priced at a similar listing and he has been knocking on the door for a while now as well and could be a good wager.
