2017 Open Championship Betting Preview PT 2

It's not going to come as a very big surprise that Rory McIlroy is considered to be one of the top selections for this one and you can always get solid odds and very big volume on him whenever the Open Championship comes around.  This year, you'll find him trading at a 16 / 1 price with most major bookmakers hyphen and that would really be a momentum shift for McElroy who has been upstaged in several of the last major tournaments.

Jon Rahm has come out and made a real impression over the last year or so and you'll find him trading at a 18 / 1 price tag with several bookmakers and it appears that says they consider him rate amongst the leading contenders to win the Open Championship.

American Rickie Fowler has also been emerging as one of the leading contenders in the last several tournaments and he has pushed them all the way on several occasions. This time around you'll find him trading at a 20/1 price tag and you get the feeling that he may emerge as a very solid each way selection as he could certainly finish within the top five finishers.

Both Justin Rose and Hideki Matsuyama in the mix at a price of a round 22/1 with several bookmakers, while Tommy Fleetwood and Henrik Stenson are priced at around of 25/1 margin with a number of top bookmakers.

There are a few other interesting selections out there such as Adam Scott at 33/1 and Jason Day at a 28/1 margin. You should also keep an eye out for Thomas Pieters to make an impression and you’ll find him available at a 50/1 margin right now.
