- By A.J. Ryder on July 16, 2018 20:28 GMTAs it currently stands, it appears as though Dustin Johnson is emerging as the outright favorite to win the tournament with the bookmakers Pricing him as the clear selection with the lowest odds.
He has put together a lot of Great Performances over the years and has been known to excel at this course in the past so he is considered to be a justifiable favorite - though you always get the feeling that the in play Wagers make a little bit more sense four major tournaments like this because you get to wager after you've seen the player take on a couple of holes.
Justin Rose is considered to be the second favorite who is just a point or two behind the likes of Dustin Johnson and looking good value-for-money at this point as he always puts in a good performance in the Open Championship.
Rickie Fowler has been gaining a lot of traction as well and it's putting some great performances over the past couple of months - really emerging as one of the marquee players at a lot of major tournaments. The bookmakers have him price right around where Justin Rose is and this puts them in a small group of 3 with prices very much overlapping amongst different bookmakers.
Jon Rahm also comes into this one with plenty of momentum and he is also considered to be one of the top five selections to win this major tournament - something that would be a major statement considering he was victorious in some high profile contests recently.
You also find the likes of Jordan Spieth and Tommy Fleetwood rounding out the top five or six major selections here and a lot of them looking good value-for-money - particularly when you look at them on an each way bet with a number of bookmakers offering a lot of value on top 5th, 6th or even 7th place finishers.
