You can bank on McIlroy being a bit more comfortable here than he has been at some of the other majors this season but the fact remains that he has been disappointing the backers over the last several majors and he will be wondering when the next breakthrough will come if he’s not able to actually muster it up here this time.

You’ll find Rory McIlroy trading around an 8/1 price tag. 

Brooks Keopka has emerged as the key second favourite here and there are many punters who will probably be looking to back the American contender, who has been able to stamp his signature on a number of the big moments in golf over the last couple of years.

Koepka can be backed around a price of 10/1 or even 11/1 with several top bookmakers and his price is likely to drop even more as we get closer to the first players teeing off in the 2019 Open Championship. 

John Rahm is always a strong contender and the bookmakers have him trading anywhere between 12/1 and 14/1 to secure another major championship. The Spaniard has a good, aggressive style of play and that might wind up rewarding him on this year’s course. 

Dustin Johnson can be backed at a solid 18/1 price tag and there are a few other really good contenders trading alongside him such as Justin Rose around 20/1, Tiger Woods also at 20/1 and Patrick Cantley available anywhere between 25/1 and 28/1 at this point in time.
