2019 US Open Betting Preview PT 1
- By A.J. Ryder on June 14, 2019 17:48 GMTThings are definitely starting to get interesting after the first day’s play at the 2019 US Open at Pebble Beach with a lot of really solid prices being floated by the bookmakers on a number of talented golfers. Usually after the first day at least one contender begins to pull away from the crowd but this time around we have a very compact field with Justin Rose currently leading the betting markets with a -7 score posted after the opening days play.

He is definitely a favourite but is a lukewarm favourite at this point with the bookmakers pricing him in around a 9/2 price tag to win the tournament. Brooks Koepka had been putting together a real good performance early in the day but looks to have slowed down a bit as we see who’s going to make the cut at this latest major championship.
Currently, Koepka sits tied for 16th place at -2.
Rory McIlroy had been looming as a serious contender for this contest and also ranks as the betting favourite for the Open Championship which will unfold in a month’s time in Wales. McIlroy is the second favourite right now in the live betting market and you’ll find him priced around a 15/2 margin to pull that off and get ahead of Justin Rose.
At the time of this writing, McIlroy was sitting in a seven-way tie for ninth place with a score of -3.
