Things look to be heating up for the second matchday of the 2011 Champions League with a number of top clubs facing some fascinating fixtures. Manchester United get the benefit of some very soft competition (no disrespect to Basel) compared to what their cross-town counterparts must deal with as City have a date with Bayern Munich.

United goes into their fixture with a slim 1/5 price for the outright victory while Basel are an impressive 14/1 to pull off what would be an amazing away win. Even the draw trades at 11/2 and United should be able to get things back on track after a tough draw away at Stoke City.
Manchester City fans will be able to lock in a rather solid price on their team of superstars as Ladbrokes have them floated at 14/5 to pull off the away victory over the legendary German side. It's a real statement of intent if City can win well against Munich but they will have to play 110% in a fixture like that to get any sort of result.
Munich trade at even money for the home win.
Real Madrid vs Ajax could prove to be more interesting than it might seem, especially if Ajax can notch an early goal. Jose Mourinho's men are a slim 2/9 with the Dutch trading at 14/1 for the away victory at the Bernabeu.
Chelsea face Valencia in one of the best betting fixtures in the two days of play. The Spanish side have been looking the part recently and this will come as welcome news to fans who have been through a tumultuous few years as the club struggled financially despite plenty of past success on the field. The hosts are 2/1 to win against 7/5 Chelsea while the draw will likely be a popular selection at 9/4.
Arsene Wenger will be happy his side only deal with Olympiacos in this week's action with the host side priced at a very confident 4/11 from the bookmakers. The Greek visitors are listed at 7/1 in what could be a potential scalp for them if they get their tactics exactly right.
A four-fold on all English sides to win pays nearly 15.0.
