Chelsea and Arsenal in Champions League Action

Andre Villas-Boas' men have a relatively straightforward task ahead of them at Stamford Bridge today as they play host to Racing Genk in Champions League action. Arsenal face a much tougher prospect as they travel to Marseille to face a resurgent side that might be able to take advantage of a few defensive frailties.

Both English sides pulled off victories yesterday with Manchester City leaving it late – relying on Sergio Aguero to emerge off the bench to slot home the injury time winner. United pulled off their first victory of the Champions League season with a pair of penalties courtesy of Wayne Rooney who started the match for the first time in a while. Nemanja Vidic was harshly sent off and 10-men United faced a bit more of an open game against their Romanian hosts after that.

Regardless, both sides now look good fancies to progress despite City being forced to navigate a much tougher group than United were assigned.

Chelsea look as though they have the measure of Genk and it appears that they just might use this as an opportunity to play a few younger players or experiment with a different alignment. Bookmakers have Chelsea trading at a slim 1/9 while Genk are trading at a full 20/1 for the shock away win.

Marseille are available at 6/5 with Arsenal priced at 12/5 for the away victory. They are certainly capable of getting the win – particularly with a strong match from captain Robin Van Persie. This one really looks to be all about who scores first and if Arsenal get the first goal they will likely be able to find a second as Marseille venture forward in numbers.

The draw is available at 9/4 and that might look the best option for the neutrals.
