England 2015 Ashes Special Bets PT 1

Despite the Australians boasting the better side on paper, you have to respect how England have been able to turn around some results recently and pull off some really nice performances against the New Zealanders.

There is a lot to like about the feel good factor that has been restored to the dressing room and with Andrew Strauss now pulling the strings in the upper echelons of English cricket it looks like we’re going to be seeing a new look to the side. Nothing would compliment this even more than an unlikely Ashes victory so it’s worth paying attention to this summer.
Looking ahead at the top performer betting markets for the 2015 Ashes series, you’ll find that the bookmakers seem to be very confident in the abilities of Joe Root to get the top batsmen award with most listing him around a 3/1 margin with a few going as low as 5/2.
Alastair Cook is competitive at, or around, that price tag with 3/1 from several bookmakers and prices as low as about 11/4. Joe Root has really been able to put together some solid performances with the bat and the Aussies will certainly be targeting him early in the series.
Ian Bell can be backed at about 5/1 for the top batsmen award and should Bell wind up winning it then it will likely be with England losing the series. If the other players genuinely step up and give the experienced Bell the run support and quality bowling that he needs to make his presence felt then things could get very interesting very very quickly.
