As it currently stands, England are trading as the 2.62 favourites to win the 3rd test while India are available at 3.0 and the draw trades at 2.75 There is very little between any of these outcomes and it remains to be seen how many variables will really affect the match itself when it begins on July 27.

The over/under for Alastair Cook in the 1st innings is a mere 2.75 and that signifies just the type of problems that the English opener and captain is having. With England looking a bit short in terms of their batting you have to wonder how an opener that gets out cheaply time and time again has really affected their chances in the long-run. Cook is trading right now at a full 5.0 to score a century in the first innings of the next test.
Cook can be backed at 3.0 to record a half-century - and even that would go a really long way towards restoring confidence in the side and getting things moving forward in terms of his confidence. It would, at the very least, stop the bleeding.
Gary Ballance has put together some decent knocks despite England not really looking all that fluent and he’s a solid 2.75 to get himself to 50 in the opening innings here.
The real bright spot for England continues to be James Anderson - who very nearly became the first #11 to score 100 when he put together the biggest final wicket stand in history in the first innings of the last test. It really tells you something when your specialist bowler is putting in the best performances with the bat.
Anderson is trading at a very competitive 5.50 to score 5+ wickets in the first innings of the next match. Stuart Broad has also been doing well and is due for a large performance. He can be backed at 7.0 to take a five-for.
England look like they have a lot of sorting out to do and the bookmakers seem to think that this fixture could go either way. If they are to take anything from this season and at least stop dropping in the world test rankings, England must get a result here and they will be wanting to do it in style on the south coast.
