English Premier League Betting Preview

There's a few really interesting fixtures set to unfold this week in the English Premier League with virtually all the top teams in competition. A lone Sunday match between Chelsea and Liverpool should attract plenty of attention – that is if West Brom vs Bolton doesn't blow us away the day before.

One of the most intriguing matches is likely to be the Manchester City vs Newcastle fixture at 3 pm on Saturday. This is a top four clash and Newcastle could make a major declaration that they are indeed the real deal if they can pull off the dramatic away victory against high-flying Manchester City. You reckon there will be more than a few cheeky punts coming in from Geordieland as their 8/1 price is a fantastic value against a City team that can be easily frustrated by a team that doesn't go off the boil. City are a slim 3/10 for the home victory.

Arsenal are odds-on against Norwich, trading at 4/6 as the Canaries are 9/2 for the home victory. Arsenal are a bit up and down at the moment but are nowhere near the crisis club they were a month and a half ago.

You would be hard-pressed to find a scrappier fixture than Stoke vs QPR but the Potters get a 4/5 nod from the bookmakers with Rangers a 7/2 listing to record a vital away win.

Manchester United can sometimes be upset by one or two smaller teams each year and that must be playing on the minds of the players at Swansea who host the Red Devils in the later fixture on Saturday. United are a slim 2/5 but will need to stay organized against a Swansea side that have shown themselves to be a shade tougher than many assumed. The hosts trade at 7/1 for the upset victory while the draw will likely entice a few at a 7/2 listing.

Everton are looking better with each game and they are getting some respect ahead of this weekend's contest against Wolves. David Moyes' men are being backed at 4/7 while 11/2 is the price on Mick McCarthy's side.
