Goalscorer Preview - Manchester United v Liverpool: Dimitar Berbatov

Dimitar Berbatov will be looking to add to his impressive goal tally against Liverpool in the FA Cup.
Berbatov has been the most in form striker at Manchester United this season and has been carrying the attack while Wayne Rooney has battled with a variety of injuries and off field problems.
The big Bulgarian has looked better than he has ever been and that includes his time at Tottenham Hotspur. Berbatov has the bit between his teeth and he is the ideal man to lead the United attack in a difficult match against an unpredictable Liverpool team.
Berbatov gave Liverpool all sorts of scares during the Premier League match at Old Trafford and there is no reason why he cannot do the same in the FA Cup. The biggest attribute that he brings to the team is that he has a very good killer instinct in front of goal and he possesses the ability to bring others into a game.
Berbatov scored a hat-trick against virtually the same Liverpool team. This could mean that Roy Hodgson puts an extra man on Berbatov during the contest but the Bulgarian can drop deeper to pull this player out of position if it’s a Liverpool holding midfield player.
Berbatov is at his most effective when United play in a 4-4-2 formation. He drags the opposition defence all over the pitch, which creates pockets of space for other players to exploit. To go with this he gets into good positions that make it easy for him to score when the ball eventually gets back to him.
However, Sir Alex Ferguson may choose to go for a five man midfield because of the unpredictability over Liverpool at the moment. Berbatov is good enough to hold the attack together, which releases an extra man to go and compete for the ball in the middle of the pitch.
