Injury Rules Wales’ Adam Jones Out of Six Nations
- By A.J. Ryder on January 20, 2011 23:40 GMTWales rugby fans will be hoping their side can roll back the years and pull off another emphatic Six Nations Championship victory but the task seems to have become even trickier now that prop Adam Jones has been effectively ruled out of the competition. Jones is reported to have injured his elbow during Ospreys fixture against London Irish at the weekend.
The official Wales squad is set to be named this Sunday and it will be interesting to see if the lineup alters the betting markets.
As it currently stands, Wales are considered relatively out of the mix for a potential tournament victory. The bookmakers seem to be pointing towards England as the potential victors here with France just a shade behind.
With Wales not exactly being particularly strong favourites for the victory, there are still a few different betting options available for Welsh rugby fans. There is an over/under on victories available and Wales are trading at even money to win three races or more while they are odds-on at 8/11 to win two matches or less.
Punters seem to be confident that Wales can dispose of Scotland and Italy but the big variable seems to be how many of the Ireland/England/France triumvirate they can pick off.
