Sir Alex Ferguson is set to unveil his new signings as his side travels to Goodison Park for the final Premier League fixture of the opening weekend. Having picked up the likes of Shinji Kawaga and last year's top scorer Robin Van Persie, United already face pressure having to keep up with noisy neighbours Manchester City following their epic come-from-behind victory against upstart promotees Southampton.

United are facing a genuine defensive crisis already with virtually all of their defenders being currently crocked save Nemanja Vidic. Rio Ferdinand is out, Phil Jones has back spasms, Chris Smalling has just had metatarsal surgery and Jonny Evans has been out since last May. Definitely not what United wanted for the big kickoff to the season, but the side are expected to slot in some back-ups and we may even see players used out of position.
Michael Carrick has been mentioned for the back-line so be sure to keep that in mind when making your wagers today.
United are definitely still favoured for the victory in this one with virtually all bookmakers pricing them at odds-on. You'll find United trading at 10/11 while Everton can be backed at a 3/1 price tag. The draw, which would be fine with Everton but not the Red Devils, would reward at a 12/5 price.
Both Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie are considered the solid favourites for the opening goalscorer bet in this one with both players trading at a 9/2. Look to hold off until the opening line-ups are revealed as Van Persie may not necessarily start this one and may be introduced later in the second half.
Punters will find Javier Hernandez trading at 6/1 alongside Danny Welbeck. It's also worth noting that Nikica Jelavic managed to score 11 in 16 games for the Toffees last year and he'll be raring to go. He is 7/1 to get the first goal and, though he may not get that, is likely decent value for an anytime strike with an 11/5 price.
Shinji Kagawa is also an interesting shout for an anytime goal and you'll find him trading at 5/2 – he'll know the cameras are rolling and he'll be looking to excite the United fans along with the millions watching back in his home country.
