Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder Betting Update

Thanks to a rescheduled fight, we now have to wait a few more months to see Tyson Fury take on Deontay Wilder in one of the most anticipated fights in a long time. Their bout in 2020 was easily one of the biggest sporting events of the year and boxing fans everywhere got to see Tyson Fury get the better of Wilder in a fight that had looked like it was going to be a real toss-up.

While some blamed Wilder’s legs going out in the second round (something he blamed on his extremely heavy pre-fight entrance costume) for Fury’s relatively simple victory, the fact remains that he is considered the favourite this time around once again.

Tyson Fury can be backed at a best price of around ⅓ with several top bookmakers to defeat Deontay Wilder by any method. The American fighter will be priced at around 5/2 which is a solid price if you think he’s going to be able to come back out with some revamped tactics and get the better of Tyson Fury. The draw trades around 25/1 at the time of this writing.

Fury to win the fight by KO, TKO or DQ is considered to be an odds-on selection in the “method of victory” market with a price of around 20/21 with several top bookmakers. This fight is unlikely to go the distance - particularly when you look at the style both heavyweights bring to the table.

Fury to win the match by decision rewards at around 5/2 while Wilder’s price to win by KO, TKO or DQ sits around 10/3. A Deontay Wilder victory by decision is priced rather high at 14/1 and you reckon there will be a few punters who think that could be the cheeky outcome - perhaps in a split decision.

The bookmakers seem to think that Round 7 is the lucky one for Tyson Fury and he trades at a 14/1 best price to wrap up in the fight in the seventh round.
